The KCIC Board of Directors unanimously voted at its September 21 meeting to support the November 7 ballot initiative calling for a new single terminal at KCI.

The board discussed the importance of the airport to the local business economy.

“We feel that KCI in its current state does not reflect our world class city,” said Dave McLerran, KCIC board president. “It’s a hinderance to attracting top businesses and talent to our city.”

If passed, the November 7 ballot measure will enable the City to build a new, single terminal at no additional cost to taxpayers. A redesigned airport makes Kansas City more competitive for securing additional flights and destinations from airlines. In addition, a new airport will enhance the visitor experience with more retail and food offerings.
